Jahn Lykouria interiors take InnSide upmarket

German hotel group InnSide has appointed Jahn Lykouria Design to create the interiors of its new Munich hotel.

The company currently has six other hotels scattered around Germany and is in the throes of implementing an expansion strategy.

The new hotel in Munich could prompt a name-change for the group to InnSide Premium, as the company seeks to ‘upgrade’ its standing within the hotel market, according to Yorgo Lykouria, co-founder of Jahn Lykouria.

He says, ‘The name change is imminent – it will be effective when we launch the new hotel next year.’

The hotel will feature 160 double and suite rooms, a restaurant, bar and three conference rooms. The consultancy has designed all furniture, fittings, fixtures and public spaces for the site.

‘The brief was quite open. The feel is modern though and we use a lot of glass in the rooms,’ explains Lykouria.

The consultancy is launching two new products through the hotel: Buddha, a seating system and a chair called Naiad2.

The hotel is expected to open at the beginning of 2005.
