Tate Modern architect and interior designer Herzog & de Meuron has collaborated with artist Michael Craig-Martin to create a 7800m2 multi-coloured faÃ§ade for the Laban Centre London, a contemporary dance venue under construction in Deptford. The exterior installation will change its appearance according to the time of day and the weather. The semi-reflective, semi-translucent polycarbonate structure mirrors weather conditions by day and will be lit like a beacon by night.
Designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based studio Teenage Engineering, the collection aims to “democratise light and sound at home” with affordable modular pieces.
