Greenpeace holds website pitch

Netherlands-based Greenpeace International is holding a pitch to redesign its website. The non-governmental organisation is due to announce a shortlist by the end of next week.

The incumbent Know Haus has taken part in an unpaid creative pitch against UK groups Webworks, Sahara and Redwood New Media, along with Riverland and Cyber Consult in The Netherlands.

The international site gets up to 700 000 hits a week. “We wanted to change it from a news-based information site and try to pull in a younger ‘techie’ audience,” says communications development manager Martin Baker.

“People have used different design consultancies around the world and pull in their own content. We want some common design threads,” he adds.

The new site will be launched at the end of January.
