Be true to your convictions, but don’t drive towards any
Having read Colum Lowe’s comments on the perils of scooter riding (Private View, DW 2 October), here’s my vote of empathy. I chose to scoot in on a Vespa Piaggio ET4 because it’s good looking scooter and cheap to run. But, after three years of intimidation from car drivers and bikers, I’ve traded up to a Honda Transalp 650. I’m still adjusting to my new-found respect, but still believe scooters are brilliant.
