Hilton launches US sub-brand in UK

A London design consultancy is today launching Hilton’s US hotel sub-brand, Doubletree, in the UK.

Social is creating five images for the first Doubletree Cambridge hotel, which show two trees in colour, in front of black and white backgrounds featuring the city’s landmarks.

The images are part of the consultancy’s ‘Proud to be Part of the Landscape’ campaign.

The consultancy, which is on Hilton’s roster, was appointed to create the work for the first Doubletree hotel, last month.

The images are being applied to print advertisements, external banners, hotel brochures and greeting cards, and depict traditional Cambridge scenes, which include colleges, punts, students and bicycles.

Every day this week the images will be rolling out in advertisements in the local paper, The Cambridge Evening News.

Dean Collison, graphic designer at Social, says, ‘Our work is specifically aimed at showing the Cambridge environment, whereas the photographs used in the US are not directly related to each hotel.’

The Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge Garden House in Mill Lane opens today.

The hotel chain offers accommodation in 160 properties throughout the US, Latin America and Canada with full-service facilities including restaurants, health clubs, business centres, and meeting and banqueting space.
