Essex chef Jamie Oliver has appointed Splendid to update his website and help launch a number of digital businesses.

The digital design consultancy will be redesigning www.jamieoliver.com, as well as creating the design work for new business websites, according to Splendid managing director Paul Bishop.

‘We want to be able to combine the sub brands of Jamie’s Italian, Jamie at Home and Fifteen into one overarching brand on Jamie’s current website that will not confuse users’ says Bishop.

‘We plan to evolve the style of the site by improving its functionality,’ he adds.

The new-look website is due to go live in September when the company will launch a series of digital business ventures it is yet to disclose.

Splendid was appointed at the end of March by head of on-line for Jamie Oliver Monisha Saldanha alongside user experience design consultancy Flow Interactive.

Saldanha previously worked with Splendid when it was creatively involved with Ebay.

Poke reviewed aspects of the Jamie Oliver site’s content, functionality and customer management in 2003.

Jamie Oliver relaunched his food and non-food ranges in supermarkets Tesco and Waitrose last month, with branding and packaging by Design Bridge.
