Tom Dixon and Paul Smith are among a host of high-profile designers to contribute to a large-scale patchwork quilt that will be auctioned off for charity in June.

The 70x70m patchwork quilt – named A Little Piece of the Mind – has been put together by New York quilter Julie Floersch and created by fusing designs from the fashion cognoscenti including Kate Moss, Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, as well as graphic designer Jonathan Ellery, Airside and architect RMJM.

Each of the squares featured in the quilt is anonymous to ensure the focus of is on the piece as a whole at the time of auction.

Proceeds from the auction will go to charities Shelter and the Bowery Mission, which is based in the US.

Scottish branding consultancy Marque Creative, which instigated the initiative as well as curating it, is leading the event.

A Little Piece of Mind will be on display at Liberty, Regent Street, London W1 until 6 April, before moving to Londonewcastle Project Space, Redchurch Street, London E2 from 10-15 April.

The London exhibitions will be followed by a week-long exhibition/pre-auction bid at The National Arts Club, in Gramercy Park South, New York in late June, and in Glasgow later this summer.

Auction pre-bids will be taken in London ahead of the final auction in New York.
