Green-fingered creatives dig in for Brompton show

Artists, designers and gardeners will stage temporary exhibitions and create mini-gardens and new shop window displays as part of the Brompton Borders event in west London next month.

The event, which is organised by the Brompton Design Council and aims to celebrate the capital’s nature and green spaces, will run at the same time as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Highlights include art collective House of Fairy Tales’ Secret Garden Festival, and artists El and Abe’s Moss Graffiti, to be installed in a disused car park on North Terrace. Priscilla Carluccio’s shop Few and Far, on Brompton Road, will stage an Indian-themed water garden in the shop window.

The Brompton Design District was launched in 2007 to increase the presence of new design in the area. Events and exhibitions will take place throughout South Kensington and Brompton Cross, stretching from the Serpentine Gallery to the Saatchi Gallery.

The Brompton Borders event will run from 16-25 May.
