Kemistry uncorks wine website

The Institute of Masters of Wine will launch a new website and refreshed identity later today, both designed by Kemistry.

Kemistry won the contract to create a new site and print materials for IMW last spring, following a three-way unpaid creative pitch. The institute briefed the group to present a ‘more personal face’ for the organisation.

‘We want to celebrate the individual IMW members by focusing the overall site design on them’, says IMW executive director Siobhan Turner.

There are just 274 Masters of Wine worldwide, the accolade being awarded following a series of demanding exams.

Kemistry was not originally briefed to alter the institute’s visual idenity, but has ended up tweaking the typeface ‘to modernise it a little’, according to consultancy managing director Omar Honigh.

The new website, www.mastersofwine.org, will go live this evening, replacing the current site.
