Fitzrovia Village to launch during LDF

The Fitzrovia Village initiative, which describes itself as ‘a loosely grouped organisation of design-led retail venues’, will launch during this year’s London Design Festival.

Fitzrovia Village will kick off with the Fitzrovia Creative event on 22 September, which will see Fitzrovia Village members stage events to showcase the area’s creative output.

There are currently 23 partners involved in the initiative, including Ligne Roset, Bulthaup and the Langham Hotel. The project is led by European Design Centre London, which has produced the artwork and website.

John Summerhill, managing director of EDC London, says, ‘We believe that Fitzrovia is an exceptional area with an extraordinary mix of stylish businesses: from excellent bars, restaurants and hotels to the fashion, design, retail and wholesale industry. You can also find architects, interior designers and art galleries alongside furniture, kitchen and lighting showrooms.’

The group will also be creating a map listing all the partners, which will be highlighted with vinyl stickers in their windows.
