2012 design panel list put back to 2008

The London 2012 Olympics organisers are to shortlist consultancies for the games’ design and creative services panel in the new year, following delays caused by a ‘huge level of interest’.

In August, the Olympic Delivery Authority and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games jointly asked design groups to tender for a place on a panel of specialists covering a broad range of marketing, design and communications services. The second stage of the process, which was due to begin in November, has now been put back until 2008.

‘There was a huge level of interest in this tender. We have now evaluated the prequalification questionnaires for the design consultancies and will be issuing invitations to tender in the New Year,’ says a spokesman for Locog.

Under the design and creative services category, the two bodies are looking for consultancies that can produce outdoor media, corporate literature and design strategy
