The collector’s editions of Collector’s Edition
Earlier this year, designer Stuart Tolley curated the Collector’s Edition exhibition of limited edition packaging designs, which brought together book, magazine and music packaging from the likes of Irma Boom and Stanley Donwood.
The exhibition was accompanied by the Collector’s Edition book, which showcased 180 examples of limited or deluxe packaging designs.
Now Tolley has created the “collector’s edition” of Collector’s Edition – reissuing the books with hand-drawn covers by some stars of the art, design and music worlds – with the books to be sold at auction for The Alzheimer’s Society.
The Artist Cover Bomb series features contributions from Jessica Hische, The Designers Republic and Stanley Donwood. Others who have created covers include musicians Sir Paul McCartney, Nick Cave and Peter Gabriel.
All the cover contributors have drawn directly on to the covers of the books – creating ten unique limited-edition covers.
