Italian design brand Skitsch to open in UK

Italian contemporary design brand Skitsch is opening a UK store in March, with interior design by Italian architect Studio Blast Architetti.

The Milan-based practice designed the first Skitsch store in Milan last year, when the brand launched.

The British store, in London SW3, will feature rough concrete surfaces, natural wood floors, glass shelves on iron girders, white walls and the colour ‘Skitsch blue’.

The store will have ‘an artistic showcase space’ where an installation by Dutch designer Bertjan Pot will be displayed. Pot, who has also designed products for sale in Skitsch,  is designing a hanging mirrored piece which promises to create a ‘kaleidoscopic effect’ and ‘dilate’ the space.

New products will be displayed in the store, made by a creative team including Peter Marigold, Jean-Marie Massaud, Luca Nichetto, Marcel Wanders, Marc Sadler and French collective 5.5.

A modular sofa by Massaud, the Alle seat by Nichetto, the Fire Lamp by 5.5 and the Sack sofa by Sadler have already been launched under the Skitsch brand.
