Pixel DNA creates Masterchef titles

Pixel DNA has designed the title sequence for the new series of Masterchef, which starts tonight on BBC One.

Post-production company Molinare invited Pixel DNA to create the titles, on the strength of their previous working relationship.

The sequence combines 2D and 3D motion graphics. Pixel DNA created a chrome-look, reflective version of the Masterchef logo, which glows red hot as the titles progress.

‘The initial brief was to create the Masterchef logo in CGI, as seen on the titled wall of the actual programme,’ says Pixel DNA creative director Marc Tingle. ‘[But] as the project progressed, we developed the end resolve to have a totally different look and feel, so it would be in contrast to the cool chrome of the main 3D shots’.
