Bold Creative in HIV project

Bold Creative and HIV charity Body & Soul are seeking illustrators to contribute to a new graphic novel and animation about how young people in the UK live with the disease.

The chosen illustrators will attend workshop sessions with HIV-positive teenagers, to try to understand the issues they face. The intention is to generate some ‘emotive material… to help other young people better cope with and communicate about their condition’, says Body & Soul in a statement.

Illustrators interested in entering the competition are asked to draw a scene in which a teenager admits to their best friend that they have HIV.

The project is part of an ongoing partnership between Body & Soul and Bold Creative called The Day, which aims to communicate the issues faced by young people with HIV.

‘Narrated by young people closely affected by the condition, The Day is a fantastic chance for illustrators to exhibit their talent by getting to the heart of the tough issues faced by those growing up with HIV,’ says Emma Colyer, founder of the charity.

The deadline for entries is 14 February.
