Myles Consulting brands Little Shipmates nursery

Myles Consulting has created a new brand for Southampton-based nursery chain Little Shipmates.

The consultancy was appointed in May 2009 following a three-way credentials pitch, according to managing director Fiona Myles.

Myles Consulting was tasked with creating a brand strategy and visual identity for the day nursery chain, which has grown by acquisition to three nurseries. The consultancy was asked to create an identity that could allow the nurseries to keep their names and local community appeal.

Managing director Myles developed the brand strategy, while creative director Allan Burrell worked on the visual identity and applications.

The consultancy says it has created a framework that ‘allows each nursery name to be expressed in a paper “artwork” a child could make’. This creates a consistent look and feel that can go across the group, with a group logo.

The branding launches on Monday, and is being used on signage, vehicle liveries, T-shirts and a marketing campaign.

Paper boat much like an eighties recruitment ad for me. The Starfish looks like a fashion chain. Marigold gloves would love the hands for a refresh of their brand packaging.
