Rose Design brands new V&A books collection

The Victoria & Albert Museum is extending its brand with the publication of a series of books about patterns, created by rostered consultancy Rose Design.

The first V&A Pattern collection features four 80-page books titled William Morris, The Fifties, Indian Florals and Digital Pioneers.

Rose Design has created the brand identity for V&A Pattern and is working with V&A Publishing to devise the look and feel of the collection.

The books contain patterns drawn exclusively from the museum’s archive.

The V&A briefed Rose to make the books ‘feel collectable, encouraging consumers to purchase multiple titles and highlight the V&A’s status as the home of pattern’, according to a statement.

Rose is currently working on a second collection of V&A Pattern books, due for release next spring. The four publications are titled Kimonos, Owen Jones, Novelties and Secret Garden.

Due for publication on 28 July, the first collection of books will be available in hardback and paperback versions, as well as in limited-edition boxed sets.
