Sir Peter Blake joins Art Car Boot Fair

Sir Peter Blake is among artists and designers creating works for this weekend’s Art Car Boot Fair in London, which will feature a collection of decorated Vauxhall cars.

Taking place in east London’s Truman Brewery on 14 June, the event will see Blake mounting found objects on plinths and placing them in a miniature sculpture park around his car, which will be painted to look as if it is wearing a tuxedo.

Fashion designer William Tempest will offer limited-edition T-shirts and mugs for sale, featuring images from his Tudor’s Collection, while fellow fashion designer Pam Hogg will present her glitterball car, a Vauxhall Tigra covered in mirrored mosaic pieces.

Graffiti artist Miss Led will be charging £10 to personalise objects brought to her, and street artist Swifty will offer for sale collages on the theme of the Vauxhall Viva.

The event will also feature a range of limited-edition tax disc holders featuring work by Blake and artists Gavin Turk, Sarah Lucas and Gary Hume.
