STB bags bank chief as new MD

Leicestershire graphic design consultancy Stocks Taylor Benson has appointed Joe Bakowski (pictured), a former service head at banking giant HBOS, as its managing director.

Bakowski takes over the role from consultancy co-founder Glenn Taylor. Both Taylor and co-founder John Benson will now focus on the creative output of the group.

‘We are now keen to concentrate on the design side of the business. With our moves and continued growth, a new perspective is needed to make sure the business remains tightly managed and client-focused,’ says Taylor.

Bakowski’s most recent role at HBOS was head of calls analysis and service improvement. Prior to this he worked across a range of sectors, including engineering and education, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management.

‘Joe is looking to introduce the kind of hard business formula he applied at HBOS. It is quite unusual for a design consultancy to appoint a managing director from the business world,’ says STB marketing director Trevor Flannery.
