GP Studio wins Harvey Nichols brief

Upmarket department store group Harvey Nichols is set to expand its Birmingham store, creating a retail space of more than 2000m2, and has appointed retail store consultancy GP Studio to the project.

GP Studio has been handed a brief to create an extended space for womenswear, incorporating three adjoining shop units at the Mailbox complex – promoted as Britain’s largest mixed-use building – as well as to ‘remodel’ the existing store. The additional space will create room for a personal shopping offer, which will also come under the brief.

GP Studio managing director Gregor Jackson, who worked on several Harvey Nichols projects while he was director at retail consultancy Four IV, explains that the Birmingham site was Harvey Nichols’

first small-store format and there have always been plans to expand.
