Strong British presence at NY furniture fair

The British European Design Group is showing work by nearly 40 British designers at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York this weekend.

Homeware designers and design groups including Black & Blum, Anthony Dickens, Jocelyn Warner, Lightware and Ting are participating in the exhibition.

Several of the British designers have secured funding from UK Trade & Investment to show at the ICFF.

However, their awards were £1400 each this year, while last year the funding was £1800.

Focusing mainly on promoting emerging furniture and homeware designers overseas, the BEDG is one of two organisations recommended to help designers by the Government business funding body UK Trade & Investment.

This is the 20th ICFF, running from 17-20 May at New York’s Jacob K Javits Convention Centre.
