Virtual collaborations
If you’re the type of person who enjoys a night of live music, photography, illustration and story-telling (possibly with a vodka cocktail in tow), we can introduce you to a creative community that will welcome you with open arms.
Virtual creative consultancy Mill Co is launching its first annual exhibition Community tonight at London’s The Russian Club. On show is work by the likes of photographer Kevin Cummins, digital artist Suzie Webb and illustrator Darren Newman, who work as freelances and independents for the online community Mill.
‘Rather than being a traditional consultancy, we handpick a bespoke team to meet the client’s needs,’ explains managing director Liz Birkbeck, who runs Mill Co with creative director Claire Martin.
The partners decided to champion the Web as a way of trading, keeping their overheads low by only employing themselves. ‘We run a co-operative of like-minded people with one common goal – to promote creative work by independents,’ says Birkbeck.
The opening night includes a reading from former Dazed editor Rachel Newsome and music from Bad Passion Project and Allez Allez. Below are some images of work from various collaborators.
