Graphics greats contribute to RCA Secret postcard show

Graphics greats Milton Glaser and Alan Kitching are among the designers that have put pen to postcard for the Royal College of Art’s Secret 2008 fundraising event, which opens today.

The event sees famous artists and young designers submit an original piece of art anonymously on a postcard. The postcards are exhibited in the RCA galleries and online until 21 November, and then each one is sold for £40.

The event, which raises money for the college’s Fine Art Student Award Fund, has brought in more than £1m since its launch in 1994.

Margaret Calvert, the designer behind the UK’s motorway signage, architect Will Alsop and fashion designers Sir Paul Smith and Sonia Rykiel have also donated original artworks this year.
