True North works on collateral for Wallace and Gromit stamps

True North has designed the core products to accompany the Royal Mail’s Wallace and Gromit Christmas stamps, which have been created by Aardman Animations.

Working closely with the Royal Mail design team, True North was tasked with creating the first-day cover, presentation pack and generic sheet for the stamps. The work launches today.

The generic sheet – a collectable set of stamps and stickers which allow customers to personalise their envelopes – features an image of Wallace’s ‘Stamp-O-Matic’ machine, which was illustrated by Bill Kerwin.

True North creative director Ady Bibby says, ‘It’s been an honour to work on this campaign. The Royal Mail and Wallace and Gromit are both British icons and so it’s been a perfect match of brand values.’

The stamps feature Wallace and Gromit in a series of festive scenes, which were made especially for the stamps by Aardman founder Nick Park and creative director Merlin Crossingham.
