Tent 2008 plans take shape

Following its inaugural launch at this year’s London Design Festival, Tent London has outlined early plans for 2008.

Initially, there will be an expanded Superbrands area, which this year saw several design brands, such as Edra, Extremis and Greenwich Village, transform the Atlantis Gallery at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, London E1 into a taste of Milan.

Circa, which was on the ground floor of the exhibition below Content – the heart of Tent London – was the international event for vintage design, showing familiar, iconic designs alongside lesser-known investment items from the early to late 20th century. This area will also be increased next year.

Additionally, the event organisers have promised more micro-shows and a music event.

Joint owners Ian Rudge, founder of 100% Design, and Jimmy MacDonald, founder of 100% East, have brought in sponsorship to Tent and introduced collaborations with clients such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Nokia, Renault, LG, Sun Corp and Du Pont.

Tent dates are 19-22 September 2008.
