Jones is being brought on board to ‘guide and mentor’ the digital consultancy, which specialises in movie promotion, according to co-founder and commercial director Rowan Heasley.
Naked Penguin Boy, which recently created the promotional site for Paramount Pictures’ GI Joe, hopes to move into working for fast-moving consumer goods.
‘We work with a number of mini-brands in the entertainment industry, and while there is a steady stream of movies coming out, at the end of the promotion you move onto something else,’ says Heasley.
‘With FMCGs you can work with a brand over a long period of time and see it grow,’ he adds.
Jones, who starts work with the group next week, recently stood down as chariman of digital consultancy Mook, after five years in the role. He has held the position of group chairman of Navyblue since 2007.
