Paul Priestman takes creative role at Chinese train firm
Priestman Goode co-founder Paul Priestman has taken on the role of global creative director of Chinese firm CSR Sifang, one of the world’s largest rolling stock manufacturers.
Priestman will take on the new role alongside his position at Priestman Goode.
Priestman Goode has worked with CSR Sifang for several years. In 2009 it was appointed to design ‘the world’s biggest train’ for the company.
In 2011, Priestman Goode opened an office in Qingdao, northern China, in order to service the client.
Priestman says, ‘Over this time we have witnessed first-hand the role that design is increasingly playing in representing the new China on a global stage.
‘That such a large company is publicly acknowledging the importance of design is a significant step for the industry in China: it recognises the value of design as intrinsic to the success of global companies today.’
