Pick Me Up prepares to return

Graphic arts festival Pick Me Up is set to return for its sixth edition, showcasing new and established design talent over its 12-day programme.

Held at London’s Somerset House, the event is split into three sections: Selects, which focuses on a curated group of 12 artists; Collective, Galleries & Studios, which hosts international groups; and the Pick Me Up Platform, a range of talks, demonstrations and presentations.

Among the artists chosen for the Selects section are Thomas Lamadieu from France, who attracted attention for his Sky Art project, and 3D paper artist Hattie Newman.

The Collectives, Galleries & Studios section is bringing representatives from around the world, including Melbourne’s Supergraph art fair and Milan-based collectives Studio Fludd and La Tigre.

Meanwhile Peckham Print Studio will host interactive workshops on producing hand-printed work and Moth Collective will bring its animation studio to the galleries, inviting visitors to watch them working on live briefs.

Meanwhile highlights at the Pick Me Up Platform include a series of talks with Jeremy Leslie of Magculture and the premiere of the Made You Look documentary about the UK graphic arts scene.

Pick Me Up runs from 23 April-4 May at Embankment Galleries, Somerset House, London WC2R.
