The D&AD awards night will be held on 19 April, at the end of the D&AD judging week. The Yellow Pencils will be given out at this awards ceremony, which is being held at London’s Imax theatre.

The Black Pencils will be given out five months later at the D&AD 50 party, being held in September. D&AD says, ‘The event will be an exclsuive celebration of the lives and talents that have shaped the creative industries over the past five decades.’

Meanwhile the D&AD student awards ceremony, which was last year merged with the professional awards ceremony is being held as a separate event on 26 June at Spitalfields Market.

D&AD will also announce the first-ever winner of its new White Pencil Award, which recognises a creative idea that changes the world for better, in November.
