Aedas brings in Ralph Courtenay to lead London interiors division

Ralph Courtenay, a former international corporate design director at architect HOK, is joining architect Aedas to lead its London interiors group.

Courtenay spent 15 years at HOK and specialised in workplace design, working for clients including Ernst & Young, Exxon Mobil and IBM.

At Aedas he will work alongside Hazel Karsten, director of hospitality design, and Logan MacWatt, managing director of Aedas Interiors Global.

Aedas says its interiors division currently accounts for 20 per cent of the practice’s growth in London. It says this is due to activity from corporate groups headquartered in London, as well as demand from Aedas’s international client base.

Mike Walters, managing director of Aedas’s London office, says, ‘Having identified interiors as a major part of our growth strategy, Ralph’s appointment is a clear signal of our intentions. His track record and experience will prove vital assets and we look forward to building up this team over the coming months.’
