The English Tourism Council has launched a new corporate identity and updated branding to enable England’s tourism industry to compete more successfully against rival holiday destinations (DW 26 May).

London design consultancy Springpoint has created two logos for the new brand – a redesigned English rose and a flag consisting of four distinctive images representing history and ceremony, countryside and tranquility, culture and energy, and innovation. In addition to the identities, Springpoint developed a brand guide, brochures and exhibition materials.

English Tourism Council chief executive Mary Lynch says the organisation will “encourage as many quality tourism businesses and destinations as possible” to apply the new brand to their marketing literature.
