Interiors specialist Wingate & Moon has redesigned the American Retro store in London’s Soho. By removing the original staircase and replacing it with a previously concealed one, the London consultancy has strengthened the link between the two floors and created 25 per cent more floor space.

‘The wall enclosing the stairs is painted bronze and a structural opening invites shoppers into the burnt orange and yellow interior,’ explains senior designer Bruce Paget. ‘Clear honeycomb decorative panels are used for the window bed balustrade and changing rooms, while the walls are a subtle pale mushroom and floors are light grey clear resin over screed.’
