Bord Bia sets up Brand Service for Irish food and drink products

Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, is in the process of establishing a design panel to deliver brand projects as they arise.

The aim of the panel, named the Brand Service, is to provide graphic design, branding, pack design, or even create a completely new brand look or identity for various food and drinks products.

According to the tender instructions for the panel, the design standard must ‘communicate the brand identity, benefits and values, create an essential point of difference, while delivering excellent stand-out on shelf’.

It also stipulates that the panel should be capable of providing food and drinks brands with design with a ‘highly focused brand message’.

In some instances, the service will involve developing a blueprint for the brand, and the strategic design must fit this blueprint. The panel will be established for two years, with the option to renew for a further year. It is not yet known how many consultancies will sit on the panel, but the roster is scheduled to be announced at the end of this year or the beginning of 2008.
