Designs on the mail: Design consultancies, marketing firms and advertising agencies could save themselves an estimated ̼27m a year Рa potential annual saving of ̼3000 per firm Рon the overnight distribution of urgent letters and small parcels by using the postal service. Research carried out on behalf of Royal Mail reveals that users of overnight delivery services send an average of seven urgent letters and small parcels to inland destinations every week, at an average cost of ̼12.17 per parcel.

`Firms are potentially wasting thousands of pounds a year by using expensive courier services in situations where Royal Mail’s Special Delivery would meet the deadline just as efficiently and more cost effectively,’ says Wendy Fortune, express services manager at Royal Mail.
