THE US design and management consultancy Lippincott & Margulies is to set up its first overseas design offices in London, Munich and Paris. The consultancy plans to recruit locally for each design team and expects a staff of 10-15 for the London office. The offices are to be established simultaneously in the next year, according to L&M chief executive officer Kenneth Roberts.

L&M already has management consultants in the UK, France and Germany but until now design work has been tackled from the US. Roberts says the consultancy wants “a design presence in each office”, to implement design solutions for local companies.

The European design teams will carry out existing design projects as well as seek new clients for the consultancy, which specialises in branding companies for the global market.

L&M is currently working on branding for the German car-hire company Hertz which is starting joint ventures in Korea and the US.
