General Motors to restructure European operations

General Motors has announced that it will centre its restructured European operations from a new European Design Centre at its Russelsheim base in Germany. The centre is due to open next January. The move follows the appointment of former Opel head of design Bryan Nesbit to oversee its Vauxhall, Opel and Saab brands. GM Europe is also planning to set up a global Saab design team that will be based in a new Saab Brand Centre in Sweden.
