Pocknell Studio package of global flavours for Wrap It Up

Wrap It Up, the latest addition to London’s fast-food sector, is set to launch next month, with branding and interior design by Pocknell Studio.

The gourmet wrap concept will open a flagship site near London’s Liverpool Street station in late January, illustrating the global flavour of the brand with strong colours and photographs of Asian, African and Italian market scenes.

Wrap It Up is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Afnan Bashir and Faisal Haque, with respective backgrounds in fast-food franchises and management consultancy. It will specialise in healthy wraps with an exotic twist, which its founders describe as ‘premium convenience food’. After discussions with a number of design consultancies, Bashir and Haque selected Pocknell Studio on the strength of its work in the sector for such brands as Oi! Bagel, Seattle Coffee Company (which was acquired by Starbucks in 1998) and Soho’s now-defunct Plant. The group worked with architect Kenny Sykes on the scheme.

‘Some of the key drivers were travelling, international flavours and foods from all over the place,’ says Pocknell founder David Pocknell of the shop’s design. ‘They were looking for a warm, comfortable environment in which to serve these things, but also looking for it to be acutely modern and pretty straightforward.’
