Guernsey’s waterfront is to be transformed with input from London consultancy Green Homan Associates.

Green Homan designed interiors for Guernsey’s post office (DW 9 October 1987) and information centre. “The waterfront needs a common denominator; you can become disorientated with its clashing colour schemes and signs,” comments consultancy partner Ralph Homan.

Consistency in the design of dustbins and signage, redesign of pedestrian routes, new street lighting and furniture and cosmetic changes for the fronts of buildings are included in the appraisal of the 2.4km stretch.

A budget has not yet been set, but Green Homan’s suggestions will be circulated in July to the state committees which incorporate Guernsey’s government. Once approved, a brief will be set.
