A lot of hot air at New Designers opening do

Winners and presenters at last week’s New Designers awards couldn’t help but get a bit hot under the collar. On a humid day in London’s Business Design Centre, the unfortunate bunch found themselves crowded into a small, poorly ventilated room to wait for design minister Mark Fisher.

Being a well-organised lot they took turns to stand under the one functioning air conditioning shaft.

A similar fate threatened guests at furniture group Vitra’s summer party the next night. The adaptable crew instead cooled down by liberal application of a well known cooling product – beer.
