I am obliged to write this in response to Kelly Blake’s letter (DW 20 March), who in turn wrote in response to my original letter (DW 6 March).
Mac Recruitment doesn’t reject any candidates. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, as each candidate is considered on the basis of their experience and skill set when applying for a particular job.
Blake seems to have missed the point to my original letter, which was written with the candidate in mind as well as the recruiter and clients in the design industry.
Her letter only strengthens my observation that, in the current climate, job-hunting can be a frustrating process when consultancies are afraid to use a recruiter. Recruiters may bark occasionally, but we don’t bite.
