Decision held on RCA post

A decision on who will lead the Royal College of Art history of design department is not expected for a month. Catherine McDermott, reader in art and design history at Kingston University is believed to be among the contenders. She was unavailable for comment as Design Week went to press.

The post becomes vacant next month when Professor Penny Sparke leaves to become dean of the Design Faculty at Kingston University.
