Old Rep seeks The Design Advantage

BIRMINGHAM design consultancy The Design Advantage has won a two-way paid pitch against an unidentified local consultancy to create the new identity for the Birmingham Old Rep Theatre.

Consultant Paul Thwaites explains that the project has been commissioned to establish a standalone identity for the theatre, which has traditionally taken the same branding as its in-house theatre group, the Birmingham Stage Company.

The three-strong design team will work on creating a logo, packaging and literature, as well as creating some design features which can be incorporated into the theatre interiors if necessary. The project is expected to launch in April.

The Design Advantage has been appointed by The British Airports Group, a promotional body for UK airport developers, to create a new range of literature, after a credentials pitch.

The BAG is affiliated to the Society of British Aerospace Companies, a representative body for the British aerospace and defence industry. It is responsible for selling UK airport development expertise internationally.

The literature suite is due to be launched at a BAG seminar on 3 March.
