The secret of Richard Branson – the multi-colour, multi-million dreamboat – and his many sweaters is finally revealed.
Branson is renowned for his multi-coloured ever-changing sweaters. And a commission from Virgin on behalf of homelessness charity Shelter confirms that Richard only pays a quid for each posh-looking woolly job.
Virgin is running a campaign throughout January, requesting unwanted socks and jumpers to be donated to Shelter. Each item (assuming one sock counts as half an item), earns the donor a quid off voucher to spend in a Virgin store of their choice.
London’s Design Clinic created the campaign’s point-of-sale material, and got so enthusiastic it raised 550 for Shelter from its Christmas party.
But Branson was not informed that his fetish would appear on a poster. “We didn’t talk to Richard, but we noticed that he wears a different sweater for every television appearance,” says a Design Clinic spokeswoman.
