DoT to decide on tunnel link

London consultancy Design Clinic is in line for a host of design work if the imminent Government decision on who will run the high- speed 3bn Channel Tunnel link goes the way of its client, Virgin.

Rival consortia London & Continental and Eurorail are battling to construct the long-awaited rail link from London’s St Pancras station to the tunnel at Folkestone. It is thought the Department of Transport will announce the outcome at the end of January.

Design Clinic’s client, Virgin, is a member of the London & Continental consortium. “We’re working on all aspects of the prospective service,” explains Design Clinic project manager Steve Taylor.
