DesignLecon changes name after acquiring Exe

DesignLeçon has changed its name to Groupeleçon, after its acquisition of animation and multimedia specialist Exe Design.

The original group was set up in January 1998 by David Lett and Fiona Condon, who were head of interiors and business development manager respectively at Anderson Design & Marketing.

Exe founder Neil Evans will be a director of the newly formed Exeleçon, as will Lett and Condon, who are also joint managing directors of parent company Groupeleçon.

According to Condon, the four- fold growth in manpower since the establishment of DesignLeçon has provided the funds that were needed for the takeover. “We started with four staff and now have 16 people. Initially, we thought we would stay as a small company offering specialist services, but we have grown through referrals,” she explains.

“Exe’s strength, particularly in animation and new media, will assist in the group’s rapidly developing workload in leisure, retail and brand strategy across Europe,” adds Lett.

Further growth is expected, with the group looking for more staff. “We will see how it goes, but it depends on what work we do. We are looking for two Autocad technicians and if we can find one of those it would be brilliant,” says Condon.
