Birmingham advertising agency Golley Slater Brooker has won a competition to design posters advertising the Power of The Poster exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.

Judges, including advertising guru Trevor Beattie, V&A curator Margaret Timmers and chairman of the Outdoor Advertising Association Matthew Carrington, chose the GSB image from more than 200 entries.

It shows a hand reaching through a poster to grab the viewer. Photography for the final version, rather than the development version pictured, was underway as Design Week went to press. The Power of the Poster runs from 2 April to 26 July.

The V&A’s new photographic gallery, designed by its in-house design team led by Brian Griggs with Carter Wong 3D manager Andy Feast, is due to open on 21 May. A programme of displays from the museum’s photographic archives is planned.
