Belstaff flagship for central London

Motorcycle clothing brand Belstaff Clothing Company is to open its first retail store in the UK as a global flagship in London’s Mayfair.

Scheduled to open in mid-July 2005, the two-floor, 650m2 store will occupy the premises previously taken by The Conran Shop on Conduit Street, W1. Interior designs for the shop are being directed by Belstaff owner Franco Malenotti and BBF Design, which is based in Treviso, Italy.

The lower-ground floor will feature plasma video screens, a couch, tables and chairs, with clothing and accessories ranges around the periphery of the room. According to the Belstaff planning applications, the designs will rework the existing shopfront to create a ‘high quality contemporary shopfront design’.

Belstaff was acquired by Italian group Clothing Company in 2004 and retails via resellers in Europe and North America.
