Michael Peters Ltd kits out health club

The new ú6m Hampshire Tennis and Health Club opened this week at Southampton with interiors and graphic design by Michael Peters Limited.

MPL worked on the interiors for all areas, including a bar and restaurant, fitness and dance studios, beauty suite and a children’s area. The club’s facilities also include a swimming pool, indoor tennis courts, steam rooms and sauna.

The private club is in a rural setting near Southampton, and the consultancy says “a striking and contemporary scheme” is created using natural materials such as slate, timber and leather.

Developed by Invicta Leisure, the club is intended as a flagship project which could be used as the model for more health clubs.

MPL is designing the interiors of ten new hospitality areas at England’s national rugby union ground, Twickenham. Working with architect Mott HDG, MPL’s role includes designing interiors for bars and a restaurant.
