Design consultancy launched by CWG

Leeds ad agency CWG has launched a multi-disciplinary design consultancy, Newblack, as part of a bid to increase its service to clients.

The group will provide services to existing CWG clients, as well as pitch independently for work in its own right.

Initially eight-strong, the consultancy launches with a list of clients that includes Paramount Hotels, Crosby Homes, The Royal Armouries Museum and Standard Fireworks. It is based in CWG’s offices in Leeds.

Headed by creative director Dominic Frary, the group plans to use the resources of its parent group to help it achieve rapid expansion. Frary says that Newblack aims to become one of the biggest groups, by income, in the region.

CWG was the original parent company of Elmwood Design, until a management buyout more than a decade ago.
