Springetts has designed the identity for the FA Barclaycard Premiership, the top tier in English football, which launched last week.
The identity will appear on Barclaycards, but will not replace the credit card’s existing identity. It will also appear in all branches of Barclays Bank, on Barclaycard literature and on point-of-sale material, according to a Barclaycard spokeswoman.
“The FA Barclaycard Premiership logo will sit alongside the current logo on our cards. The standard logo will appear on the front, while the back of the card will show the Premiership logo,” she adds.
Barclaycard paid £48m for a three-year deal to sponsor the Premier League last month.
Springetts recently revamped Barclaycard’s entire identity, from its corporate and international businesses to its consumer credit cards (DW 29 March). The identity launched in April.
The consultancy won the latest project without a pitch.
